Wine Tasting 101: Learning the Art of Wine Tasting
Thanks for visiting our WorldVentures site.
Wine tasting and attending a wine tasting party, contrary to popular belief, does not involve a lot of sipping, swishing and swallowing. While there is a definite art to wine tasting and many different wine-tasting forms, the popular theory of sipping and the like could not be farther from reality. It does, however, take years of practice to master the technique.
Wine tasting notes abound and can get your started. However, the only true way to begin to distinguish a fine wine amidst a variety of fine wines is a skill. Picking them reliably requires a trained palate, which takes years to develop. Wine tasting involves ascertaining whether the wine has been stored properly in a wine cellar designed to produce a beverage that is both pleasing to the eye and an exquisite experience for the palette.
Wine tasting is rooted in our sense of smell with over 75% of the impact on our taste inexorably linked to the food and drink we consume. This would account for the persistent notion that when we have a cold everything is tasteless and our appetite is non-existent. Most wine aficionados will tell you that the experience of a fine wine is more about the smell than the taste, and after that personal preference takes over and it becomes a tossup from that point on.
Proper wine tasting is initiated with the swishing that is most familiar to novices. The purpose of this activity is to circulate the taste of the wine by moving it between the front and back areas of the mouth in order to reach the taste buds contained in the tongue.
Taste buds do not necessarily have a noted taste factor, but they are capable of properly identifying food and beverages that are sweet, salty, and bitter with no problems at all. Therefore, the process of swishing is more about giving the senses an opportunity to extract the aromatic flavors in the wine being tested.
With even a basic understanding of the swishing technique, its purpose and the dispelling of long held myths, wine tasting will wind up looking less like something silly and more like a talent and skill that is part of the whole wine making process. Wine aficionados will be able to tell if the wine cellar designs and the features of a wine cellar have served their purpose or fallen short. All of this will be reflected in the end product.
Upon pouring the wine into a crystal clear glass, the first step is to take a considered look at the sampling. This is not a step to be rushed as a great deal can be ascertained during this step. Despite their name, white wines are actually not white as much as they are golden, pale brown or with a slight tinge of green. On the other hand, red wine is typically a dark pink hue or leaning toward dark brown in color.
The second step is closely observing the smell of the wine that is actually accomplished in a two-step fashion. First, you should take a brief whiff of the wine to get a general idea of what you are dealing with. Next, you will take an extended, deep drawn in smell in order take in the full aroma of the beverage.
You will often see the most studied of experts pause at this stage to take in the results of this step and reflect on what they have just experienced.
In the end, the wine connoisseur will be ready to start tasting the wine, first by taking a sip then swishing it around to detect both the bold and subtle flavor in the sample. It is only after this step is accomplished will the wine taster fully savor the flavor and swallow the sip taken.
Having completed the steps of observing, smelling, and finally tasting the wine, you will then be able to discern the quality of the wine from a connoisseur’s standpoint. This is the most comprehensive way to determine the aging, storage, and overall fitness of the wine for consumption. In addition, as with any skill, the more practiced you become, the more adept you will be at evaluating the unique and exciting flavors of this special beverage.

Wine clubs are the place for wine lovers
Thanks for visiting our WorldVentures site.
Wine clubs are popping up all over the place - not only because of our passion and pure love for wine, but mainly the reason is of a basic need to gather and discuss subjects that are intimate to us and we just want to share it with the rest of the world.
Wine has been labeled good for our health by various experts in the medical industry, a lot of people are becoming extremely interested in what this true gift of god wine is all about and how to choose the best ones. The great thing about wine is that it is priced for every budget. Just because a wine is less expensive, don’t let that fool you because some of the wines that I’ve had are the cheapest ones.
It is no secret that wine making is getting popular faster than any other hobby. It is quietly gathering a large following especially in countries outside of North America, it is truly phenomenal. So if you feel like that you would love to learn more about wine and taste different kinds of wine, just start a wine club.
To get started, first find the main organizer for the club. The person who contacts other wine lovers in the group regularly and set’s up meetings. If you think you can be the wine club leader, go for it!
So how many members do you need initially? Five to ten members work just fine. Trust me, once you start managing your own club with this amount of people, it will be really easy, almost habitual when you do get to a group with a large amount of people in it.
You are probably wondering well how will I get to try out new wines every month. The information can be found everywhere, including on the internet, wine magazines and don’t forget your local wine or wine making shop.
You’ll also want to have a great selection of wine glasses on hand. They can be inexpensive, but be sure that you have enough so that each person has his own glass for each type of wine that you’ve selected.
The best to things to discuss at your first wine club meeting would be just the entire process of making wine. You’ll be surprised on how simple and easy it is. Plus new members who have no idea about the wine making process will really appreciate it.
Remember to focus on the educational aspect of the wines. You’ll need rating charts that are available at wine shops, on line and through wine magazines. Each of your members will be rating the characteristics of the wines. Then, you can compare them to see if you all agree.
Just like any good club, starting a wine club is a great way of meeting beautiful people just like yourself who love wine and sharing it with others. Wine is truly a gift and the more people you drink it with, the more fun you will have.

Three Tips on purchasing Cuban Cigars
Thanks for visiting our WorldVentures site.
Do you know where the best Cigars in the world come from? You guessed it, it is Palestine! No I’m kidding, it’s actually Cuba. Please don’t go there looking for Cuban cigars, I believe its not a safe place for tourists right now. Have you heard of Cuban Cigars? Well the place they come from is Cuba. When you think of Cuba, you probably think of Fidel Castro and a country America isn’t getting along with that well. What you must know that Cuba is the only place on the planet that has the ‘god gifted’ climate to grow the most beautiful and amazing cigars in the world. These guys have been doing it even before Christopher Columbus discovered it in 1492. I believe that brand today is known by the name of Cohiba. However, thanks to the internet, pretty much anyone who is privileged can buy a Cuban cigar, but the question of that day is are your Cuban cigars real?
See you have to be very careful when dealing with these ’snake oil’ sales websites on the internet promising you dirt cheap Cuban cigars for a few hundred bucks. If you find a deal that is less than 500, you are about to be had! They will ship you Dominican cigars and if this is your first time, you’ll probably be really happy. However, if you ever smoke that in front of a real Cuban cigar smoker, you just might loose their company. Allow me to share the three laws that you must apply to a website when buying Cuban cigars on the internet. Trust me, you will thank me later.
The second thing that you should be looking at is if the business is authorized to sell Cuban cigars. If they are not, you might as well just throw your money in the garbage. As the cigars you will be receiving definitely deserve to be demolished. You see, if you are not authorized by Habanos, you are not selling real authentic Cuban cigars. It is simple as that. Habanos is the place where the first Cuban Cigar was cultivated hundreds of years ago and if you ever get a chance to go there, prepare yourself for a trip back in time. Upon being discovered by Christopher Columbus in 1492, the Habanos area hasn’t changed at all, it’s still beautiful. Even the process of making Cuban cigars,
If the first two points that I just made check out, ask them how long have they been shipping for? Especially to the United States. You see the USA, thanks to the embargo set my President Kennedy, is the only developed country that has a ban on Cuban cigars. Sad but true. So if you get caught with Cubans in your mouth in the United States, you my friend have to pay a fine of up to $50,000.00. Plus depending on the state you are in, you might end up going to jail. So ask the Cuban cigar online retailer do they ship to the United States and if they do, how long have they been doing it for?
If you follow the three laws of buying a cigar on the internet, you should be fine. Please do your research on the organization you are going to be dealing with as it can be a rewarding experience in the end or a very deadly one. Research definitely pays when buying Cuban Cigars on the internet. Good Luck!
