Chess: Basic Moves for the Classic Game
Thanks for visiting our WorldVentures site.
Chess is one of the oldest traditional board games you will ever play. The beauty of chess is the almost endless level of skill and strategy that you can employ as you climb the ranks and challenge increasingly skilled competitors.
Irrespective of your age or skill level, you can find opponents to play and challenges to face. It truly is a game for all ages.
Of course, as a novice, you’ll find it hard to play chess with other players, especially as you’re beginning to learn the elementary movements. You can, however practice on a virtual opponent until you learn the basic moves. There are numerous online services or PC-based games that you can play to improve your skills.
Speaking for myself, I very much prefer a three-dimensional layout, so I almost always play on an electronic board when I want to play solo. There are plenty of great electronic chessboards that can increase in difficulty level as you improve, which is an advantage that they hold; and they also double as an objective measure of your improvement at the game. Some boards will even calculate a ranking for you based on how fast you play and how skilled your moves are.
As you begin to play against these virtual opponents, your aim is to understand the board, learn the various moves of each chess player, and learn the basic defense and attack strategies.
Once you’ve conquered the basic capabilities of the pieces, and you can construct move sequences without thinking to yourself “okay, two squares up and one square over,” you’re ready to tackle a real player.
So find yourself a cheap board at a game site, find a friend, and start playing one of the world’s oldest and best games.
The endless possibilities in game play make chess a superb game choice for the entire family.

Read This Guide Before You Buy Your First Set Of Golf Clubs
Thanks for visiting our WorldVentures site.
Buying your first set of golf clubs can seem daunting with all the choices out there. To take away some of the confusion I have listed some things for you to keep in mind before getting your first set of golf clubs.
Be Clear About Your Golf Goals. If you have realistic goals before you set out to buy, it will make the process of buying clubs much easier. If you’re deeply committed to golf and plan to play every day, then obviously you’ll want to spend more time, money and effort on a set of clubs than if you only intend to play twice a year with your brother-in-law.
Assessing Your Levels of Dedication and Interest. If you honestly assess your dedication to golf, you can more easily determine how much to spend, and on what quality of clubs. How much will you be practicing? Will you be willing to take lessons? If you aren’t willing to go that far, then you’re probably better off going with a cheaper pair of clubs. If you plan to practice regularly, and take lessons, then you may want something more expensive.
New or Used Clubs? Used clubs are probably a good choice if you aren’t sure about your commitment or have a history of taking up hobbies and losing interest in them after a short time. They will be cheaper than new clubs and they can be replaced more easily later.
Shaft Options - The Basics. The two differences in golf shafts that beginners should keep in mind are shaft composition (graphite or steel) and shaft flex (the amount of bend in the shaft during your swing). Steel is cheaper and sturdier, but graphite is lighter, so it will generate more swing speed. Women and older players will benefit most from graphite shafts that have a softer flex. Stronger, younger men may go with regular or stiffer shafts, but remember that many teaching say too many golfers use shafts with too much stiffness. If you’d like to get more details about proper shaft selection consider getting the Golf Beginners Guide, a 272 page ebook created especially for the novice golfer.
Getting a Clubfitting. If you’re getting a new set of clubs, a clubfitting is an option. A clubfitting lasts about half an hour and is an option offered by many teaching pros. If you don’t want that, at least getting a measurement in a pro shop will ensure that the clubs you choose are well-suited to your body. If you are a 5-foot-10 male, then the standard clubs straight off the rack will fit you. However, if that description doesn’t fit you very well, you might want to get fitted.
Easier Golf with the Right Clubs. Of course, nothing will take the place of a good swing, but as a novice golfer you can make it easier on yourself by choosing clubs that are designed specifically for higher-handicappers. Known as “game improvement clubs”. You should choose irons that are cavity-backed and perimeter-weighted. Investigate “hybrid” sets, in which utility clubs replace the long irons - that is, the 3-, 4- and occasionally 5-irons. Go for more loft (i.e. 12 degrees), not less, when choosing a driver. Don’t pay attention to what kind of clubs the Tour players use.
Seek Advice, Ask Questions. If you have friends who play, ask them for advice. Ask at a pro shop or golf pro for recommendations. Get some idea of what you are really looking for. When you’ve done all this, and you’re ready to buy, remember to shop around. Range and price will always differ from one outlet to another, whether you’re shopping at pro shops, department stores, or garage sales. Just keep in mind your price range and only buy clubs within that range.
Yuletide 2008: Destination Florida
Thanks for visiting our WorldVentures site.
You’re raring to go. You want to get away from it all. It’s been a year and you need to reward yourself with a nice vacation for the Christmas holidays, and Florida is the place you’ve never gone to in your entire life, but you got one dilemma. You can’t decide which places to visit or what to do in Florida. Have no fear, a list is here to help you manage your vacation itinerary and spend more time enjoying your stay than planning for it.
Are you a music lover? If you love Christmas carols, don’t miss the Historic Bok Sanctuary, where the carillon plays every 30 minutes. There are daily performances for the entire month of December at 1:00 and 3:00 in the afternoon. There is no entrance fee to the gardens.
Still can’t get enough of Yuletide music? The Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra is another treat for music lovers. The show, titled “Holiday Pops Encore”, features the long-standing orchestra together with the Jacksonville Children’s Chorus and the Jacksonville Symphony Chorus at the Jacoby Symphony Hall. Now that you’ve filled your ears with the pleasant melodies of Christmas, you’re sure to be in that holiday state of mind.
Maybe you’re into health and fitness and can’t let the day go by without getting some exercise. Maybe you’re a little homesick and miss the snow and ice. Go ice skating. Yes, ice skating in Florida. Don’t laugh. There are many ice skating rinks to be found in Florida, and you’d surely want to try out Countryside Towncenter’s Centre Ice in Clearwater.
If you love Christmas carols, don’t miss the Historic Bok Sanctuary, where the carillon plays every 30 minutes. There are performances each day of December at 1:00 and 3:00 in the afternoon. Admission is free for everyone.
One place you must really go to while in Florida is Fort Christmas Historical Park. The park is a replica of the fort that was built in 1837 sometime during the Second Seminole War, which started from a battle called the Dades Massacre. History enthusiasts won’t want to miss this Fort Christmas recreation.
The Whitehall Flagler Museum in Palm Beach, Florida is one option you’d really want to consider. Henry Morrison Flagler, one of the original partners of the oil giant now know as Exxon, had the 55-room, 60,000-square-foot winter vacation house built as a wedding gift for wife Mary Lily Kenan. Whitehall is among the so-called Gilded Age homes that exist until today.
Christmas won’t be complete without presents, and one really memorable place to go shopping in west central Florida is at Rogers’ Christmas House and Village. You’d swear that that Santa Claus was a Florida native after you’ve toured this captivating village. Rogers’ Christmas House and Village consists of five houses, namely the Main Christmas House, the Magnolia House, the Country Cottage, Storybook Land, and the Little House under the Oak Tree.

Tips For Starting Your Florida Crafting Business
Thanks for visiting our WorldVentures site.
You already know that your arts and crafts hobby is a great opportunity for business. You’ve seen the colorful and specialized booths in Florida art fairs and festivals and decided that you can do it, too. However, if you’re thinking of starting out a crafting business anytime soon, you would want to know the risks involved and how best to avoid them. Here are a few tips to make sure you don’t get burnt out on your business’ first few weeks.
Florida crafting trade shows are a great way to explore the market early on. It gives you insight on competitive prices and other opportunities. you’re going to want to try and set up a booth in one of these fairs and festivals to test the waters, so to speak. This is also the safest way to get to know the risks and problems usually encountered by arts and crafts businesses at an early stage. Make sure to try out small first on local fairs and festivals so you don’t overwhelm yourself with big shows.
If you think you did quite well on the local art and crafts fairs, you can try and walk in on some local specialty gift shops and try to see if they would be willing to carry your products.
Your friends and family are also a gerat way to spread the word about your new business. you can give out samples to them and ask them to show all their friends. Give out small souvenirs to neighbors and coworkers and you can be surprised where it will take you.
Advertising in local newspapers or specialty magazines is good if you have money to spare. This is a good way to get publicity about your product and will help you a lot in finding your market.
A website is a good substitute for publishing on magazines. Although popularity for your website can be hard and slow to achieve, it gives you a broader market to target: the whole world. The website is like your own personal booth in the internet. So make sure to leave enough information about yourself, your product and how to order on the site. You’re also going to want to give out as many payment options possible so you won’t frustrate visitors who are willing to purchase.
Another way to advertise over the internet are online mailing lists like Yahoo! Groups. These lists distribute e-mails to its members. A good thing about this is that most groups are specialized so you know you’re not giving out Florida Craft Show information on a mailing list about dogs.
Starting out small and working your way up is always the best way to start out your crafting business with minimal risks. It’s always safe to learn as much as you can about the market before making any large investment. There are a lot of places which offer you information about these over the internet and on a Florida fairs and festivals database. They can help you begin your business and keep everything under control.

Different Motorcycle Helmet Colors
Thanks for visiting our WorldVentures site.
There are a large array of different motorcycle helmets to choose from. Which one you should choose can be a difficult decision for any rider. Solid or pattern, florescent or metallic?
It can be hard for a motorcyclist to decide on a color for their helmet. Your helmet is most important for the safety it provides you, but it is also a good way to show off your style while riding.
Some riders choose a brightly colored helmet in order to improve their safety. A bright colored helmet can help motorists to see you more clearly, either during the day or at night, which you’re riding.
A solid motorcycle helmet color is the best if you want to be noticed by other drivers. You can also purchase a reflective strip so that their headlights will illuminate it, making you more noticeable, and therefore safer.
For a rider who is really concerned with letting their individuality show while they ride, there are many motorcycle helmet colors out there for everyone that are eye catching and can be personalized.
Say you’re a rider who can’t get enough of their bike. You might be able to find a helmet customized to your bikes colors. Check on the manufacturer’s website, or get it custom painted at your local bike shop.
If you’re a huge sports fan, and have some extra cash to spend, you can get a helmet with a graphic of your team’s logo, painted in your team’s colors. This will let you show your fandom on the road.
If you want a customized motorcycle helmet color, there are many different options, but they can get pricey. For a rider with a smaller budget, go with something plain and simple to cut costs.

Taking Hobbies Beyond the House in Alaska
Thanks for visiting our WorldVentures site.
Some make sumptuous pastries from recipes traditional to the family or even from new recipes made on their own. Some make intricate crafts through needlework, quilting, knitting and crochet. Some even make solid works of art out of wood. There, of course, are other hobbies taken up in the home aside from these. But talents are meant to be shared. And what other better way to share than by participating in venues where one can showcase these talents and even earn a little from them. Crafts and trade fairs and festivals are perfect for these things.
But how do you begin without any contact with people who are into attending such events? How would you know how far it is from where you live or how to participate? To find these out, you would need a source for fishing out data about the upcoming crafts and trade fairs and festivals in the country or even just in your own state.
A way to go about this is that you would need to network efficiently with other people participating and organizing these fairs to get wind of the latest happening. But let’s say you’re a beginner at all this and clueless of what to do? What would you do now or who would you approach?
Thankfully, there are databases of all crafts and trade fairs and festivals all over the country, in every state. And for Alaska, there is also a handy calendar for all these events.
There is always a sort of charm attached to everything homemade and handmade: Homemade preserves, homemade cookies, hand-knitted scarves or handcrafted lawn ornaments. They all carry a sort of warmth that attracts all sorts of people. Surely they would appreciate these skills being shared with them. And who knows? Maybe your crafts would gain some attention there. Besides sharing your talents, you could gain some recognition and a little extra income. Isn’t that something to look forward to?
Make your life simpler by joining a service that keeps you updated on all these fairs and festivals happening in Alaska. You’d be able to share your talents easily and make some profit out of it, too.

Sharm, Egypt: Jewel of the Red Sea
Thanks for visiting our WorldVentures site.
Sharm el Skeikh, or just Sharm, is one of the hottest travel destinations in the Arab world, and for good reason. It’s quickly being recognized as one of the finest diving spots in the world, and the variety of activities available to the visitor is mind boggling.
Forty years ago, Sharm Egypt was little more than a tiny fishing village. But during Israel’s occupation, the land near Sharm’s center began to be developed and it gradually transformed into a tourist destination. It now contains most of the amenities that you would expect in a travel destination, except that it’s been able to maintain its historic roots.
Sharm and nearby Hurghada are located on the Red Sea coast, and just offshore there is a wide spectrum of aquatic life and beautiful coral, including dolphins and sharks, if that’s your cup of tea! Sharm caters to scuba divers of all levels, so even if you’re new to the activity, you’ll find a reputable dive operator who can accommodate you.
If scuba diving is not for you, there are plenty of other beach activities that you can participate in. Sharm and Hurghada beaches have beautiful white sand and the water is crystal clear. Bad pictures are almost impossible to take here!
While some areas in Egypt are known more for their historic value, Sharm has a reputation as more of a beach or resort destination. Here you’ll find hotels in all price ranges, including some world-class properties, and you’ll also find an active nightlife, which is not particularly common in Egypt. But do expect to pay a hefty price for beer, wine, and spirits, even in this more liberal area.
Egypt hosts more than 5 million visitors every year, and in recent years, over one quarter of them have visited Sharm. The locals are very friendly and accommodating with travelers, but there are still some taboo customs that you should be aware of if you’re planning a vacation. To get the most out of your holiday, look into Egypt packages, which will help you plan your visit.
For the most part, most of Egypt is generally safe. There is very little violent crime, with the most common infraction being petty pick pocketing, but security is stationed in many public areas to protect the travelers’ interests.
Sharm is a beautiful city in an amazingly historical city. If you plan a holiday to Sharm, whether on its on or as part of one of the available Egypt packages, you will not be disappointed, and you will leave with some fantastic memories (and hopefully photographs) that will last a lifetime.
