Airtravel Tips - Traveling with Sports Equipment

Thanks for visiting our WorldVentures site.

by Tanja Martens

Are you passionate about sport? If so, there is a good chance that you are going to try to incorporate sports in your next vacation or business trip. If you plan enjoying a game of golf or a part of baseball, it is likely that you will need to bring some sports equipment with you. However, did you know that there are some restrictions on these points? If you plan to travel with sports equipment, the sport is not what this equipment is intended, we recommend that you familiarize yourself with these rules and restrictions.

As mentioned earlier, golf is a sport that many travelers enjoy participating in. If you plan to travel with their golf clubs, will have to treat them as checked baggage. All airlines currently have a ban on golf clubs to be used as carryon luggage. Because of the cost of most sets of golf club, or want to leave your home or in clubs to protect them adequately. If you travel to a golf resort or other popular holiday destination, there is a good chance that you should be able to rent a set of clubs. Although it will not be yours, it is good to know that a whole was safe at home.

In addition to golf, baseball is another sport enjoyed by many. Like golf clubs, baseball bats are prohibited from being used as carryon luggage. If you are about to enjoy a baseball game, your next vacation or business trip, you will want to save your baseball bats in a bag to ensure security conditions that can be transported across different airports. While baseball bats are banned from aircraft cabins, there is no mention of other teams, such as detachable, helmets, or baseball. For your convenience, you might want to store these supplies baseball in the same place as their baseball bats in their checked baggage.

Of course, if you plan enjoying a hunting trip during a vacation or a business trip, you need to keep your supplies in your checked luggage. All bows, arrows, and firearms are strictly prohibited from being in the aircraft cabins. In fact, if you try to pass through a checkpoint security at these points, there is a good chance that you will be stopped by airport security, for further questioning. Even though you may not necessarily reflect, bows, arrows and guns are only used for recreational purposes, but they are also used to harm others.

Additional sporting goods that are banned from being included in your carryon luggage include pool cues, ski poles, lacrosse sticks, or hockey sticks. As with all other items, if you are concerned with the safety of your sporting equipment, you are advised to rethink your decision to bring that equipment along. You can help to protect your equipment by making sure that everything is properly and safely packaged; however, there are no guarantees. You are also advised against relying on compensation from the airlines if and when your sports equipment suffers damage.

As mentioned earlier, there are some sporting goods that are directly prohibited, but other rules are not so clear. If you are trying to decide whether or not you can pack other teams in their carryon luggage, masks or other protective gear, we recommend that you ask before exiting the airport. In the event that these items are prohibited, it may need to make additional arrangements. Whether you decide to return to the themes of his car or mailed to your home, you may end up wasting time and money unnecessary.

Thanks for visiting our WorldVentures site.

by Tanja Martens

When it comes to air travel, a large number of people affected daily heaven. People fly from all different reasons. Some people have to make a business trip, others are visiting friends or relatives, others are on vacation, and some are making a cross country forward. If you are moving, there is a good chance that you may have to take your pet with you. If this is the case, you will find that you are subject to a whole new set of rules for air travel. Before leaving for the airport with your pet or pets in tow, we recommend formularize with those standards.

The first step to travel in the air, with a pet is to make sure that they are even allowed. Some pets are allowed to be on airplanes, but that does not mean that all airlines are permitting. If you plan to travel with your pet, you need to inform your airline of this information in advance. This is vital because not all airlines will allow you to carry a pet. Therefore, if not ask your airline before heading to the airport, which could not climb aboard their flight.

When travelling with a pet, you must keep that five contained. This means that if you are travelling with an animal, such as a dog or a cat, the animal will likely need to be in a carrier. When buying a pet carrier, it is important to know that all carriers are allowed to board. If you intend to keep your pet in the cabin with you, as opposed to your pets treated as checked baggage, you need to ensure that your pet carrier will not adversely affect other passengers. Your pet carrier must not block alley ways or intrude into other areas of the passenger seats. In addition to these general rules and restrictions, you can see that every company has its own set of five carrier rules.

Almost all airlines require that your pets have the proper documentation for its admission into their planes. They most commonly include information on the health of their pets. Most airlines require that your pet be subjected to a medical evaluation before being transported by air. This information is not only used to ensure that the animal is healthy enough to fly, but is also used to ensure that they are adequately protected by the vaccine. Proper vaccination not only protects your pet, but other passengers and airline staff.

Once you have received permission from the airline, which wants to fly, to acquire the proper equipment for pets, and gained control of health suitable for your pet, you have to wait until the day of travel. On that day, you might want to get to the airport a little earlier than recommended. This will help ensure that you can quickly straighten out a problem without losing their flight, one should arise.

When you and your pet arrival at the airport, whether at the beginning or not, you will both be required to pass through airport security. Your animal will be required to pass through a metal detector, like everyone else. If you use an animal carrier, it is also likely that your pet carrier will be presented for consideration. This review includes most often being sent if the x-ray machine with your carryon baggage, but it is important to note that your pet will not have to go through the x-ray machine, metal detector should be sufficient.

As mentioned earlier, not all airlines allow their passengers to fly with their pets, even in the cabin or below deck. Therefore it is advised that you determine whether your pet can fly with you soon. In addition to air travel different standards, it is also possible that some airlines charge fees for passengers of pets. In the event that you are charged, you will be notified of this post soon.

Holidays Resources - Plan Fun Activities for Family

Thanks for visiting our WorldVentures site.

by Nicole Mendari

It’s so easy to get caught up in the preparations for the holidays. Shopping, baking, cooking, packaging, cleaning and chauffeuring to children around the world who need to go. As you make your list of things to do, be sure to include some fun activities that include their friends, family, co-workers and neighbors. After all, the camaraderie and the fellowship is a big part of the holiday season, so make sure you spend some quality time with the fun of it means to most of you.

Christmas caroling is a fun way to not only include people you already know, but a great way to break the ice and meet new neighbors and people. Print up some lyrics, grab a portable stereo with Christmas music, and tour your neighborhood singing Christmas carols. It doesn’t matter that you’re not the best singer. People of all ages will enjoy this old tradition carried into the modern holiday season. If you don’t feel comfortable caroling in neighborhoods or at houses you’re unfamiliar with, consider having a mobile caroling bus that goes to the homes of those you know to carol. Take a bucket of candy canes or Christmas candy to pass out to the homeowner as you leave. You might also consider caroling on behalf of a favorite charitable organization. Construct a secure donation bucket or box that clearly shows the name and address of the organization you’re helping. Some people might not be comfortable donating to you personally, and that’s okay.

Somewhere in the pre-printed pieces of paper with the organization’s name, address and phone number along with a brief statement on what they do, and we encourage them to make a donation directly.

Ice skating is another great activity to do with friends and family. Not only does it promote getting some exercise, but it’s a great way to spend time outside enjoying the crispness of the winter air if you live in the right climate. If you don’t, most towns have local skating rinks. Check their schedule in advance and send out invitations to several family members or friends and make an afternoon of it.

Consider encouraging your friends and relatives to join in a tour of volunteers to help a local nursing home or shelter home this holiday season. You can sing carols with the residents of the nursing home, or help dish out hot soup bowls and pass out blankets for those in need. If you know a family in need this holiday season, perhaps their friends and relatives could put together a holiday gift basket and fill a laundry basket of food, baked goods, and treats and small gifts for Christmas children of the family. It is a good way to teach children the importance of reward their community and help those who are less fortunate then themselves.

Remember the reason for the season, and spend time with your friends and family, and maybe even help others in the process. Have a great holiday!

Holidays Infos - Handle the Heavy Work Early

Thanks for visiting our WorldVentures site.

by Nicole Mendari

You know from previous holiday seasons there is still a long list of things to do in order to properly prepare for the holidays. Instead of waiting until the holidays are over you, try to address some of the biggest jobs earlier when time is not as pressing, and relieve some stress in the process.

Have you completed all the tasks of cleaning its downfall? If your garage is a mess and has no idea where he buried the Christmas decorations, and there are still leaves falling everywhere, get busy and get your garage cleaned and organized and get the yard work completed. If you have not already done so, prepare your plants outdoors for the winter, his flight hoses and sprinkler systems, and completely clean your garage. It will make the hunting of holiday decorations a non-issue, because you can go right to them. It is also a good idea to take stock of their situation and make a note to replace anything that is broken. Check your lights at the moment, too. While you are at it, get out your lights outdoors, and hang them until after the audit. When the holiday season rolls around, all you have to do is flick a switch.

Get your interior deep cleaning done at that time too. If you know that you are going to have nights stay with you, make sure your room is ready for business. If you have to store things in clear it out. Make sure it is available drawers and closet space for your guests to put things away if they are with you for an extended period of time. It is also the ideal time to tidy up summer clothing and bedding items and leave your heavier clothing and bedding.

And while some might consider not cope with the Christmas cards a heavy task, which can be quite time consuming depending on the length of your list. If you can verify that you have received the correct addresses from the beginning, that this will make the task go more smoothly when the time comes. While you are updating mailing addresses, which is a good time to make sure it has arrived properly phone numbers and e-mail addresses and, as both are quick ways to invite people to an impromptu feast open or match. You might consider addressing and stamping envelopes in small groups while watching television every night. Thus, we are ready to pop in the mail when the holiday season arrives.

Another chore that can be addressed from the beginning of your holiday baking and cooking. Some bakery freeze very well when prepared in advance, just as quick meals such as chili and spaghetti sauce. Then, when the holiday season arrives busy, you have some of your bakery on the way, and when you need a quick meal, you have something that can easily be skipped in the microwave or crock pot and serve hot meal for your family.

Tackle those big chores now so you can enjoy your holidays fully later!

Family Vacations in Rome

Thanks for visiting our WorldVentures site.

by Sarah Dudleymore

Rome is a city where you can walk anywhere in the city center and this is the best way to visit the city. Wondering through Rome’s old historical center is one of the most exciting experiences when in Rome.

Explore the magnificent buildings and their architecture, take in the street life, visit hundreds of churches as you stroll down the narrow cobblestone streets, go window shopping, and walk into any caf?-bar for that taste of capuccino flavor. Our advise is to start early in the moring and get ready for a long walk with a pair of comfortable shoes.

The most important sites in Rome can be all easily reached in a few hours walking.
Spring or late fall is for sure the best time to visit the city, especially if you are coming with your children to Rome, the weather will be just perfect.

Italians love to have children around and be sure that your children will be made very welcome everywhere you go. Children are warmly welcome in Pizzerias and trattorias where high chairs are often available for toddles and babies.

Most of these places are ok with children that eat only half-portions or share meals. The best pizzerias for children are the traditional and old fashioned ones. This is where you and your childer will see the chefs stretch, pound and flip the though in the air which is something special they will always remember!

Nightlife in Rome is exciting and in latest years the number places to hangout and clubs have increased and are focusing on a more demanding clientele.

In Testaccio area you will easily find all the best tastes for all budgets and a wide variety of places. Another equally popular activity is to simply relax with friends and enjoy a good bottle of wine in the so-called “enoteche” (wine bars)located in any of the historic center’s beautiful squares.

Jazz, Rock, Folk, South American and world music are popular cultural events which you will easily find in the many venues scattered around in the city center

In recent years, many new Italian bands started getting popular and are worth seeing alongside with the many other international stars that are constantly playing here.

In Summer there are excellent open-air rock, jazz and world music festivals. Especially the “Ippodromo delle Capannelle” is becoming the most popular highlight of many Roman Summer Events, and it’s selling million tickets in sales. In June and July in Villa Ada you can find a special selection adn music festival taking place about ethnic and african music. Angelique Kidjo and pianist Abdullah Ibrahim performed here.

Rome is scattered with popular, small local food markets and several intriguing markets near the centre. The famous flea market in Trastevere and the famous vegetable/flower market in Campo dei Fiori.

During Christmas and Epiphany you will see handicrafts, games, toys, and clothes for sale by stand owners in the many local market, a great opportunity to stock up on Italian specialties.

Rome is definetely an excellent vacation spot for group and families, go experience it youlself!

Discount Hotels - So You Spend More On Fun And Less On Rent.

Thanks for visiting our WorldVentures site.

by Trip Wend

A trip with your family is one of the most wonderful things in life. But you need to plan smart if you want it to be fun for you and your family. The first thing that comes to mind when planning a trip is the budget. And however small or big that is, you must find a way to make the most of it.

We are taught the value of up front planning and that concept is extremely valuable when it comes to planning your vacation. Thanks to the Internet it is really quite painless to find places to go and stay and things to do. There’s a wealth of information available to you, including reviews done by others, and perhaps best of all, comparison shopping is no longer the hassle it once was. Finding a discount hotel which offers quality service has never been easier. Discount hotels can be clean, comfortable, in a nice part of town and with good food service. What you’ll be missing is likely just a few luxury items.

Together with food and lodging, travel itself is a major expense. If you plan well ahead you can often find airline tickets available at a significant discount. If possible you might even consider adjusting your vacation time to take advantage of advertised airfare discounts. If you have collected travel points or frequently flyer miles you may trade them in for even greater savings or for travel or hotel room upgrades

Airline travel is normally the best way to get to a vacation destination that is some distance away, especially of course when traveling over water is involved. However for shorter distances don’t forget the automobile, gas prices notwithstanding. Driving allows you to really see the sights and take a few unplanned side trips along the way. You can even camp out one or more days, enjoying the outdoors and saving money in the process.

Very often a vacation trip means a trip to a foreign destination. For this you have to do a little extra planning. Using a reputable travel agent can pay dividends here. Don’t forget you’ll need a passport and that the process takes a little time. Don’t submit your application a week before leaving on your long-awaited trip to Europe! Make friends and family aware of your travel plans and make sure you carry identification with you. Carrying a copy of your passport pages can be a good idea which may save you greatly in time and trouble should you lose your passport.

It is also a good idea to learn about popular tourist spots in your travel destination. If your trip is of a short duration, you may pick the best easily beforehand, and not waste time deciding after you get there. Because every single day you spend on your trip must be spent well, without wasting time.

The most important thing of all of course is to plan activities which every member of the family will enjoy. It’s tempting to want to visit a tourist attraction that sounds really great but is only of interest to you leaving your family to wish they were somewhere else at the time. Budget time for your spouse and the kids and they’ll probably be more than willing to spend some of their time on things you really want to see and do. This type of planning should take precedence over the monetary aspects of the trip.

Make every effort to make each family vacation one of those “once in a lifetime” events, one you and your spouse enjoy and one that your kids will someday be talking (positive !) to their kids about. Once the planning is done and the vacation begins, put your heart into it.

Enjoy the magic of Venice in Christmas

Thanks for visiting our WorldVentures site.

by Sarah Dudleymore

Christmas in Venice is very different from any other country or city in the world. You will not see massive amounts of decoration pieces in windows on houses, instead you will see magnificent sites that normally you won’t see at home.

You will be amazed by the brightly painted red boat/gondola carrying Santa down the canal lit up with many magical lights. Christmas trees are usually small and skinny.

That’s due to the fact that trees are usually carried in small boats (not cars) and then brought home for several floors with no elevators. Disposing of trees is a highly specialized trade, almost a science.

We suggest to attend the midnight mass at St. Mark’s Basilica at Christmas Eve, it starts at 10:30 p.m. and you should get there early to get a seat (no tickets needed).

Try to enter through the north entrance and not the west entrance often used by tourists. The square is fully lit with lights and the cool brisk air adds magic to the atmosphere, with the canal water splashing away in the background.

In Piazza San Marco, the famous caf? “Caff? Florian” is open on Christmas Day. A good place for Christmas breakfast and coffee in the morning! Each year on December 26th, the Frari Church in San Polo (in Campo dei Frari) offers a free concert at 4:00 p.m.

The church is loaded with impressive art, here is where you will find Titian’s Assumption of the Virgin, a carved monk’s chair from 1468 and Canova’s Tomb. The music is amazing. Get there early and dress warmly. The Christmas services differ from church to church. The larger ones are well worth seeing whatever your religion is.

In the days right before Christmas many markets are spread all over the Rialto Bridge area. Antiques, foods and spices from all over Italy and special souvenirs of Venice to buy as presents and bring home to your loved ones.

Parents carrying their children on the shoulders or in their arms pointing and smiling and the overall Venice Christmas atmosphere make this site worth a stroll.

Sometimes it seems as though even more places are closed on December 26th than on the 25th. It is best to plan ahead and make Dinner reservations for your Christmas.

During this time the weather varies as there are lots of cloudy days with mild temperatures or brilliant blue skies. The air is crystal clear and brisk. On these days, Venice is so perfectly reflected in the water that it is easy to mistake one world from the other.

Can you think of a more magical place to spend the holidays other than Venice!!

A masterpiece open air monument in Rome: Trevi Fountain

Thanks for visiting our WorldVentures site.

by Sarah Dudleymore

A visitor can’t come to Rome without visiting this masterpiece created in the middle of Rome: the Fontana di Trevi.

It’s the largest standing and most ambitious of the Baroque fountains of Rome. Measuring 25.9 meters (85 feet) high and 19.8 meters (65 feet) wide. Rome is rich in abundance of fountains. Currently consisted of over 3,000 fountains scattered all over the city. There is no place on earth like this.

The fountain is at the juncture of three roads (tre vie). It marks the terminal point of the “modern” Acqua Vergine. One of the ancient aqueducts that supplied water to ancient Rome, stretched 22 km (14 miles) away from the city. This aqueduct (Aqua Virgo)also fed water into the Baths of Agrippa. It served Rome for more than four hundred years.

Numerous alterations were made as the centuries passed. In 1629 Pope Urban VIII, thought the earlier fountain was losing its beauty and asked Bernini to sketch and give the fountain a new definite, monumental form.

When the Pope died the project was shelved! The project was adopted and taken over by Nicola Salvi! Work finally began in 1732, and the fountain was completed in 1762. Though Bernini’s project was rejected, there are many Bernini touches in the fountain as it was built

Coin throwing: A traditional legend says that if visitors throw a coin into the fountain, they are sure to return to Rome. For those who are not familiar with the tossing of the “three coins”. They were thrown by three different individuals, the current version is that two coins will lead to a new romance and three will ensure either a marriage or divorce!

Quite a mystery to base your love in a toss of three coins into a fountain. Legend says that this act brings good luck to throw three coins with the right hand over one’s left shoulder into the Trevi Fountain.

Approximately 3,000 Euros are thrown into the fountain each day and are collected at night. The money has been used to sponsor a supermarket for Rome’s needy people. However, there are regular attempts to steal coins from the fountain, including some using a magnetized pole. The fountain was refurbished in 1998; the stonework was scrubbed and the fountain provided with re-circulating pumps.

Many people wonder what is the building behind Trevi Fountain. It’s called Palazzo dei Duchi di Polis. In the center is a modeled replica of the triumphal arch. The center niche has free-standing columns for maximal light-and-shade.

On the outside Oceanus, water comes out from her urn and Salubrity holds a cup from which a snake drinks out from. On the top is a copy of the Roman origin of the aqueducts. The tritons and horses provide symmetrical balance, with the maximum contrast with their facial expressions and poses.

The theme of the gigantic scheme that jumps forward it’s called “Taming of the waters”. The mixing of water and rockwork is simply amazing.

No doubt that Trevi is by far one of the most facinating place in Rome where to stay.
