What is Blogging and How Do Get Started?

July 8, 2008 by Randall White · Leave a Comment

A blog is a bit like an online journal, although it can be written by various people, or by just one individual. It’s written on a website in chronological order, although usually appearing in reverse order. Blog or ‘blogging’ are also used as verbs to imply an action - in other words, the action of making a comment on a blog somewhere.

The term ‘blog’ is derived from Jorn Barger’s term ‘weblog’ and is said to have sprung into being when Peter Merholz separated it into the two words ‘we blog’ on his site as a joke.

When lots of folks interact using a blog, they are typically discussing a particular subject of interest for them. Consequently, if someone wants to know what’s the best pink gadget to buy for his boat, others will write in with their comment on how that particular gadget worked - or didn’t work. Blogs are ideal for discovering what other folk’s experiences have been with anything you can conceive.

If some person is knowledgeable on some topic with plenty of experience that other people can benefit from, then he may start up a blog about it and offer advice. They may also offer links to other websites that promote items applicable to the area of expertise. Also he may offer links to other blogs or other articles about the same topic.

Blogs utilize both images and text, even so, some blogs emphasize art (artblog), videos (vlog), photographs (photoblog) and audio, that is, podcasting or MP3. Blogs can be short or long, but those that are very short are referred to as micro-blogging. Blogs are usually updated several times a day and the technology utilized today allows people who understand very little about it to become confident bloggers with just a brief learning curve.

In the early days of blogging, bloggers called themselves diarists, journalers, or even escribitionists. A comment or article written on a blog is called a post, a blog post or an entry. Old blogs on a topic are occassionally referred to as ‘archives’ and may be kept on a another page or pages that can be accessed via a hyperlink. There are at times a variety of hyperlinks - like the index of a book and they are found on the left or right of the blogging page.

The nice thing about blogging is that persons who have the same interests can all join together and talk about, getting familiar with each other (so to speak) at the same time.

Express Yourself Through Blogging

Blogs have become immensely popular among today’s web savvy community. They are used to bring news, stories, discussions, reviews and much more to a large audience around the globe. Another great way to use blogs is to express yourself openly through them. Having a special ‘let it out’ blog can help you express your opinions without really discriminating or harming anyone.

People may see you as opinionated or biased, but that’s partly the fun of having a blog to get things off your chest. An annoyance you had to face the day before or how you simply dislike having to wait in a queue, that blog is your place to say it. You’ll be surprised how many people tend to agree with what you have to say.

There are many bloggers who take the time to express their opinions to the world. Sometimes, these blogs are hilarious and focus on the humour in everyday life. Other times, you’ll come across blogs which are bordering on the offensive, simply because the truth hurts.

Comparatively, there are blogs which talk about daily incidents in a ‘reader-friendly’ tone, which visitors can participate in, pitch in with their opinions and generally make the blog lively and interesting.

Of course, keeping your blog updated and interesting is not easy - you will have to work at it. This is especially true if you deal with current affairs and hard news. This usually makes such blogs take second place to personal ones.

Most conversations in the real world consist of what happened to whom, where and how it effected others and all types of other gossip. These same conversations can be held through an interesting blog on the web. So, whether you want to express your opinions on world politics or simply complain to the world about how noisy your neighbour is, you can rave about it to your heart’s content in a blog.

To do all this, you don’t need to have your own blog. You can simply sign up with an already established blog and become a guest blogger. Also, you can simply join in by sharing your viewpoints about anything that’s discussed in the blog. Expressing yourself through a blog and letting the world know how you feel can be liberating and enjoyable.

Personal interest blogs are gradually becoming more popular among the web-savvy community and so, make the best of it through becoming a participant yourself.

How To Create An Interesting Blog

July 4, 2008 by Stuart M. Gray · Leave a Comment

by Stuart M. Gray

Blogs have become the new-age marketing tactic, with most website owners creating their own blogs to attract traffic and personal sites taking the form of blogs. Easy blogging applications such as Wordpress and BlogIt have managed to attract loads of bloggers and continue to dominate the blogging world. With so many millions of bloggers and equally high number of blogs, it’s no surprise that not all blogs are interesting.

The reason for this lack is simple. The majority lose interest once they’ve done a few blog posts. What they once wanted to tell the whole world stops becoming so important when other work and daily duties come in to focus. The content gets stale and people stop visiting them. Making a blog interesting takes effort and if you can be creative with words, it’ll be even better.

Fundamentally, there are only two ways to keep a blog intriguing and make the visitors come back often. The first thing would be to find a general interest story, something like a news story, upcoming publication or even an incident told by a friend.

Blogging is about keeping your readers interested and not letting things get dull and boring. Topics must be broadened to include a variety of interests, which will get more people to comment and discuss their views. Never hesitate to blog about something you feel people will be interested in.

If your intentions are to draw as much web traffic as possible, you simply have to concentrate on writing interesting things for the worldwide readers. Of course, topics such as religion, politics, racism and controversial sciences are better left undiscussed, because the goal is to share ideas and opinions on common ground and avoid discriminative discussions. New content always attracts more people, so it’s a good idea to update your blog frequently.

The second principle of blogging is finding links. Instead of writing lengthy posts about what you think will be interesting, simply search for interesting topics, stories and articles on the web and link to them through your blog.

You can use the blog posting area to tell the visitors why they should visit a particular link and what they can find there. The idea here is to get visitors to your blog, but direct them to a different area to actually read the content. This keeps your blog interesting while attracting lots of traffic too.

Locating the best blog on the web or creating it is quite a big task. Unsurprisingly, you’ll run out of things to say on your blog at some point, so the trick is to keep looking for interesting things elsewhere and make the most of it.

M-Commerce by SelfBank Mobile Financial Blog Scam Article Review

by Free SelfBank Mobile Banking Home Business Opportunity

How can I access M-Commerce by SelfBank Mobile Financial Worldwide Blogger Todd Schuyler. I hope you enjoy this article blog review. M-commerce (mobile commerce) is the buying and selling of goods and services through wireless handheld devices such as cellular telephone and personal digital assistants (PDAs). Known as next-generation e-commerce, m-commerce enables users to access the Internet without needing to find a place to plug in. The emerging technology behind m-commerce, which is based on the Wireless Application Protocol (WAP), has made far greater strides in Europe, where mobile devices equipped with Web-ready micro-browsers are much more common than in the United States. But now, with Free SelfBank Mobile Banking and Payments, M-commerce is going to a whole new level, not requiring special software or hardware and can work on any phone or carrier and POS system.

In order to fully exploit the m-commerce market potential, handset manufacturers such as Nokia, Ericsson, Motorola, and Qualcomm are working with carriers such as AT&T Wireless and Sprint to develop WAP-enabled smart phones, the industry’s answer to the Swiss Army Knife, and ways to reach them. Using Bluetooth technology, smart phones offer fax, e-mail, and phone capabilities all in one, paving the way for m-commerce to be accepted by an increasingly mobile workforce.

As content delivery over wireless devices becomes faster, more secure, and scalable, there is wide speculation that m-commerce will surpass wireline e-commerce as the method of choice for digital commerce transactions. Were talking way more than E-Commerce.

Financial services, which includes mobile phone banking (when customers use their handheld devices to access their accounts and pay their bills) as well as brokerage services, in which stock quotes can be displayed and trading conducted from the same handheld device.

Telecommunications, in which service changes, bill payment and account reviews can all be conducted from the same handheld device Service/retail, as consumers are given the ability to place and pay for orders on the fly and the go!

Information services, which include the delivery of financial news, sports figures and traffic updates to a single mobile banking device IBM and other companies are experimenting with speech recognition software as a way to ensure greater security for m-commerce transactions. For more information about M-Commerce visit Free SelfBank Mobile Information Website.

Top Wordpress Themes

July 3, 2008 by Randy Roedl · Leave a Comment

by Randy Roedl

With thousands of wp blog templates now on the market for free and for money you can bet it’s hard to decide on the top wp blog templates, but I believe I have come up with a great answer to this burning question. Now there are many free wp blog templates that are very nice and I use many of them but they can’t justify being number one on the list.

To be # one the theme needs to have some exclusiveness, but at the same time still be available to the general public. I’ve seen some very incredible wp blogging graphic themes that are unique to just one person’s blogging but in this case we won’t be choosing from that.

I have looked through the elite wp blogging graphic themes on the internet that cost anywhere between $20-$200 and I have come up with the elite wp blogging graphic themes.

It was a fairly difficult decision to come up with a winner for the top Wordpress themes but after viewing themes for a long time I decided on choosing the Revolution Wordpress themes.

There are currently eight Revolution wp blogging graphic themes for sale and each one of them are very well constructed and thought out. Each one of theme are constructed for a specific niche blogging and I feel that the designs were kept simple enough to use and didn’t go overboard on the options.

The two graphic themes I like the most from the Revolution series is the news theme and the sports theme which are somewhat similar but both very nice article style blogging graphic themes. Article style wp blogging graphic themes have been very popular and I have seen them on lots of blogs recently, but most of the no charge article graphic themes aren’t very well constructed.

Now I don’t have much coding knowledge so this is why spending a few bucks on a well constructed wp blog theme is worth it. With a revolution wp blog theme you will stand out and look like one of the top dogs of blogging.

Now this exposure is excellent when starting out a blog and this is why I give the Revolution Wordpress themes the number one Wordpress theme.
